Sir Lewis Hamilton, seven-time Formula 1 World Champion and the best-dressed man in the F1 paddock, has been announced as the new menswear ambassador for Dior. In addition to this prestigious role, he has also guest-designed a collection for the renowned fashion house. This collaboration underscores Hamilton's boundless achievements, adding to his impressive portfolio that already includes his own clothing line, Plus 44, and luxury watches collaborations with IWC. Fans can look forward to the collection's release on 17th October 2024.
Hamilton's close connection with Dior is well-known, as he has often sported custom looks by the brand's creative director, Kim Jones. This partnership is a natural fit given Hamilton's consistent recognition as a fashion icon both within the world of sport and beyond. His distinctive style fuses luxury and streetwear, continually setting new trends and inspiring a move away from the standard team attire often seen in the F1 paddock.
The collection will focus on winter sportswear, particularly skiing and snowboarding, both hobbies of the multi-talented athlete. According to Wallpaper Magazine, the collection will feature "colourful technical ski jackets and puffers, slouchy salopette-style pants, and an array of knitwear, from cable-knit sweaters to Dior-emblazoned jumpers."
Hamilton expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “Working with Kim and the talented team at Dior has been a dream. Our values and ideas are aligned, making it easy to bring to life a creative collection infused with our shared experiences.”
